Feeling hot hot hot!

What a hot day for Forest School!

We decided to postpone the fire and have ice lollies instead! We also used the bow saw to cut discs of wood. We then painted these with the theme of Little Red Riding Hood which we are studying in our English lessons!

Thank you to our helpers for coming along today!

Art Week in Turtles – Recycling!

In Turtle Class we considered the consequences of poor recycling and the overuse of non-recyclable plastics and materials. We discussed items you can and cannot recycle and whether we actually recycle things that we should. Do you?

We imagined a world in the future where there is so much rubbish the landfills are overflowing and people live among the rubbish….

We had a great time weaving and shaping foil to create our sculpture! Come into school at 9am on Monday to see the finished piece!

Friendship at Forest School

Today we made some lovely friendship bracelets!

We enjoyed twisting the different coloured wool and giving them to our friends. It then felt really good when a friend gave one to us!

We are looking forward to a fire in our next session on the 12th June.

Baked Bananas!

Today we had super fun making a fire and baked bananas!

In class we slit bananas open and filled them with marshmallows and chocolate buttons before wrapping them in foil.

Then when the fire was going well we added the foil wrapped bananas.

After around 5 minutes they were ready!

We shared one with a friend and enjoyed how everything had melted and gone all gooey and sweet!

We also enjoyed playing 1,2,3 where are you, swinging on the swing and playing lots of games with our friends!

Thank you to Mrs Rose and Mrs Ridge who came along to help!

Our next fire will be on Monday 23rd May 1:30pm
